Sometimes I forget to write

Category: daily blog

I keep meaning to write a blog post and then things keep getting in the way, argh! And then, when I DO have the time, I can’t think of a single thing that I actually want to say anything about.

To add to things, instead of doing something productive with my evening, I’m watching some television show about the Kardashians to kill time. This is kinda like watching paint dry, except paint brings me more joy. I think that one word can sum up my last few weeks – unproductive.

Yawn, yawn, yawn… the day goes on. Let’s hope I’m up to speed again soon because I’m feeling so dazed at the moment.

Lazy Sundays

I love Sundays. I love them even more when I don’t have any deadlines to meet or anything which can’t be left until the start of the new week. This is one of those Sundays and I’m enjoying it.

I’m working my way through my Lovefilm rentals – next up is Paris Je T’Aime which I’ve seen before but hey, I thought it’d be a good watch. I’m always on the lookout for titles to add to my queue so if you’ve seen any great movies recently, let me know! I’m into most genres and love things which will make me think or make me laugh, so feel free to make suggestions.

Today I’ve pretty much been drowning in media – from the internet to the television – so I think I’m going to start a new book tonight and give my brain a little rest. Speaking of the internet – I put up a new theme here today. What do you think? It’s really simple but I think something cleaner like this is going to help me focus more on the content and a new theme always motivates me to blog more.

I hope that wherever you are that you’re having a good day! I’m enjoying the rest of the evening before it’s time to turn out the lights and sleep through until tomorrow.

Thanks for the motivation!

I haven’t updated this in ages because I’ve been pretty all over the place and writing about my life was not so much a priority these last few weeks. I’m feeling more positive now though, which means I’m getting back up to speed on the things that I like to do.

Speaking of which, it’s mostly the fault of online communities that I’m still up at this hour tidying my room. Yeah, I’m tidying my room at almost midnight. Blame saucydwellings and ourbedrooms for this – two of my favourite places to source housey inspiration and motivation from. Seeing other peoples’ houses looking so good really motivates me to work on mine and apparently time is no barrier to this. I’m not going to complain though – I think it’s a whole lot more productive than waiting until tomorrow when, chances are, I won’t feel like doing anything.

I’ve just started working on clearing and organising my desk, which has been out of bounds ever since I became a hamster owner. At first I had Ped’s cage on my little white bedside table (which is used as a TV stand sometimes, and never as a bedside table) but that’s where I like to keep my tv if I’m working on my laptop on the pull out table. Sounds complicated, I know, but I’d much rather sit and be able to watch the television and work from my sofa/bed than sit at my desk facing the wall. Maybe the issue is that my desk is – in fact – facing a wall, but this is a studio and there’s not really anywhere better to put it so there it stays. Back on subject, my desk has been a hamster cage stand for a good month or so now, meaning that I’ve become really uncaring about what there is on it and whether anything is actually kept in order or not. This was slowly annoying me to no end, because I like my desk to be tidy even if nothing else is, and even if I have no intentions of working at it. It’s one of those things.

So far I’ve cleared it and moved some bits and pieces around – brought my espresso set down from on top of the used-to-be-a-fireplace and put it on my desk where I think it looks a lot better. I’ve also made some start on sorting through what is in my open folders but I haven’t got very far because I’m reluctant to do any kind of sorting and filing when I know that the rest of the room isn’t tidy.

Speaking of the rest of the room, there are woodshavings all over it because I obviously have no talent with anything remotely messy. There’s also some hamster popcorn on the floor too, for good measure. I figured it’d be a whole lot less than polite to vacuum at this hour so it can wait until tomorrow.

I’ve got Ped gnawing on his cage to my right and the television playing Family Guy right ahead of me and I figure it’s right about time to get back to work.
